In a recent survey, 60% of community members ranked hiring and retaining high-quality staff members as their top funding priority for the district. Voter-approved mill levy overrides are key to funding increased staffing and compensation.

Among some of the largest metro area school districts, the Five Star District ranks 13th in mill levy override dollars per pupil. Passing a mill levy override would allow the district to increase compensation to:

• Compete with peer districts, allowing the district to attract and keep top-tier talent to our schools and ensure a high-quality education for our students.
• Improve student achievement in high-need schools through the development of teacher leaders, a research-proven teacher mentor program and pay increases.
• Maintain staff to provide targeted academic and mental health support to students.
