Improve School Grounds

Projected Cost: $75.8 million

School grounds need regular maintenance in order to provide safe and convenient access to, from, and around the school building. Through this regular maintenance, it will also increase pedestrian safety and ADA access by removing trip and fall hazards and providing compliant ADA pathways. As part of that regular maintenance, the district looks to:

  • Replace and repair sidewalks, parking lots, and drives at 40 schools and support facilities.
  • Replace and upgrade playground equipment, enhancing student safety and accessibility of playgrounds at 25 schools.
  • Repair middle school fields at nine schools.
  • Replace synthetic turf fields at four comprehensive high schools.
  • Add athletic toilet facilities at four comprehensive high schools.
  • Replace and repair irrigation systems, select grass playfields and other landscape plantings at 15 schools.
