Enhance School Safety

Projected Cost: $55.8 million

There’s been greater demand from parents, students, and staff to increase security measures across all our schools and campuses, but these systems are costly to implement and maintain.

Knowing this, the district looks to improve school safety by:

  • Update door hardware and install push button locks on classroom doors in all schools
  • Replace and upgrade past end-of-life intercom systems at all school buildings
  • Improve cell signal inside all school buildings
  • Replace and/or repair fire alarms and sprinkler systems and equipment at 39 schools and three support facilities
  • Install door sensors on all exterior doors to ensure secure buildings
  • Replace network cables in all buildings to maintain critical school safety features
