Enhance Critical Systems

Projected Cost: $84.6 million

As school buildings age, some schools have faulty cooling and heating systems and dysfunctional plumbing. Critical systems need to be repaired or replaced to continue to provide a safe, warm and dry learning environment for all students. The district looks to:

  • Replace and/or repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioner systems at 45 schools and nine support facilities.
  • Balance temperature controls at all buildings.
  • Replace and/or repair plumbing systems at 46 schools and five support facilities.
  • Replace, and/or repair electrical systems and equipment including emergency generators at 40 schools and eight support facilities.
  • Restore and/or repair elevator and chair lift equipment at four schools and one support facility.
  • Add air conditioning to gyms and cafeterias at select schools
